Safety Co.
does not perform construction activities, sell shoring equipment, design
and stamp shoring designs for contractors or market any product aside from
education related services. This is stated to assure our clients that the
services we provide are not a disguised attempt to market products and it
keeps us in a position to openly and fairly evaluate all available technology.
A major component of the training we provide is to educate the contractor’s
staff so that they can estimate plan and develop shoring and safety systems
in house and then take them to licensed consultants where that is required.
In order for construction planning to work it must originate with the contractor
that is going to follow through on it.
Meet The Team -
Joe M. Turner, P.E.
Excavation
Safety Co.
was founded by Joe Turner, RCE in 2005. In December 2006 he sold his construction
engineering firm, J.M. Turner Engineering, Inc. to one of his employees
because he wanted to be able to give full attention to excavation education
and safety training. The development of JMTE represents 15 years of providing
construction engineering services to contractors all over the United States.
The company specialized in designing excavation shoring systems, bridge
falsework and has provided engineered shoring plans to thousands of construction
firms. The company also provides design services to major manufacturers
of shoring equipment. The work that JMTE performed provided Joe with an
extensive resume of experience with contractors and an understanding of
what knowledge they need within their staff to efficiently pursue the work
they do and make a profit.
Prior
to development of JMTE, Joe Turner owned and operated construction firms
as a building contractor and later as an engineering contractor to build
water distribution and treatment projects. The combination of hands on construction
and construction related engineering experience that Joe brings to the table
gives Excavation Safety Co. a unique foundation for the training and education
lectures that they provide.
In the year 2007 Joe wrote Excavation Systems Planning and Safety, published
by McGraw-Hill, to be out late in the summer of 2008.
